We want your dog to have fun at North Shore Dog, but also want everyone to be safe. That’s why we require proof of vaccinations, a short behavioral evaluation, and a trial day for all dogs.
If you are considering us for either Daycare or Boarding, please make sure your dog or cat meets our basic requirements:
All dogs or cats must be at least 3 months old
All dogs cats over 7 months old must be either spayed or neutered (No exceptions)
For Dogs: Distemper/Parvo, and Kennel Cough* vaccines
For Cats: FVRCP
All dogs and cats must be up –to-date on Rabies, (We accept titers for Distemper/Parvo)
*Kennel Cough – We require all dogs to be vaccinated for kennel cough (bordatella) at least once a year. If your dog has not had this vaccine, or, if the vaccine has expired, it needs to be updated.
Please be aware it can take 14 days for the vaccine to become effective. During that time, your dog or cat cannot visit with us.
“We love North Shore Dog! Our girl has been going there since she was a puppy! The new owners are our good friends and they LOVE dogs! The staff is amazing!"
"I take my lab mix there every week. She knows what days she is going and gets very excited to get in the car. Met the new owner today. Seems very nice."
- Steve, Zoey's owner
All dogs must visit for a short behavioral evaluation before any daycare or boarding stay. During the evaluation, we will introduce your dog to a few others to confirm they have acceptable play skills, and that they take basic direction from the North Shore Dog staff. Be prepared to spend about 15 minutes for the evaluation.
Trial Day (Free!)
If your dog’s evaluation goes well (relax… most do!), we invite you to leave your dog for a trial day. This gives your dog more time to settle-in at North Shore Dog, and it provides us an opportunity to know your dog more closely. There is no charge for the evaluation or trial day, so why not give us a try!
We are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all dogs.
